Yes. Zambia is supported for USD accounts, EUR accounts, SWIFT payments, and cards. A company registered with PACRA can apply online for a USD and EUR business account for Zambian companies. The accounts are enabled once Altitude has verified the company and its owners.
No. You open the account with your Zambian entity and its own documents: its PACRA certificate of incorporation, a legal entity printout or share register, a contract or invoice from the last six months, and a ZESCO bill or lease for its premises. You don’t need a US entity.
Exporters, consultancies, agencies, service companies, and any other company registered with PACRA. Each one applies online with its PACRA certificate of incorporation and TPIN, then gets USD and EUR accounts, global payments, and corporate cards in one workspace.
You get a USD business account and a euro business account for your company in Zambia. Clients in the US pay your USD account by ACH or wire, using its routing number and account number. Clients elsewhere send USD by SWIFT with the account’s SWIFT details. Your EUR account’s SEPA IBAN takes EUR transfers. Payers name your company exactly as PACRA registered it and send SWIFT in USD.
It’s free to open, with no setup or monthly fee. Receiving ACH, wire, SEPA, and SWIFT payments is free, and you see the cost of every payment you send before you approve it.
Send USD by SWIFT to the account your company holds with a bank in Zambia. It arrives within five business days. If that account is in another currency, your bank may convert the payment.
To open the account online, you’ll need:
- Your PACRA certificate of incorporation, with the company’s 12-digit entity number, and its ZRA TPIN.
- A PACRA legal entity printout, which lists your shareholders and beneficial owners, or your own share register. A printout is valid only on the day PACRA issues it, so download it when you apply.
- A contract or invoice in your company’s name, issued or received in the last six months.
- A ZESCO or water utility bill dated in the last three months, or a lease, for the premises you trade from.
- An identity check for each owner with 25% or more, sent by email, using an NRC or passport.
A USD account at a Zambian bank comes with a Zambian account number. Altitude gives your company US routing and account numbers, SWIFT details, and a SEPA IBAN, so clients in the US and Europe pay through their own domestic transfer systems. Your supplier payments abroad leave from the same balance.
Zambia is a supported country, so qualifying means passing business verification. Find your company in the registry search or enter its details by hand, answer the business questionnaire, and upload your documents. Each owner with 25% or more, and at least one control person, then completes an identity check with a photo ID and a live selfie.
